About Green Tea Gunpowder

Dating back to the Tang dynasty (618-907) this tea is withered, steamed, rolled and dry roasted. The name was said to have been coined by the English as it looked like “gunpowder” when tightly rolled. Gunpowder green is also known as bead or pearl tea, this tea unfurls when hot water is added and springs back to life releasing those rich, roasted flavours.
